Ticket costs

In New Jersey, the cost of a Mega Millions ticket is typically $2 per play. With each play, you select five numbers from a set of 1 to 70, plus one Mega Ball number from a set of 1 to 25.

Always verify with the official New Jersey Lottery website or authorized retailers for the most current pricing information and any available options.

Zero prize amounts

In the Mega Millions game in New Jersey, if you match some of the winning numbers and one or more of the numbers is 0, the prize amounts can vary based on the specific numbers matched and the overall distribution of winners.

Here’s a general overview of how zero prize amounts might work:

  • Matching the Mega Ball (0) only: Typically results in a small prize, often a free ticket for the next drawing or a small cash amount.
  • Matching other numbers with a 0 in the winning combination: The prize amounts for these matches can vary depending on the specific numbers matched, the total number of winners, and other factors.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on prize amounts in the New Jersey Mega Millions game, it’s best to check with the official New Jersey Lottery website or authorized retailers. They will have the latest information on prize amounts for each drawing, including any adjustments due to the presence of zeros in the winning combination.

Multipliers

As of my last update, the New Jersey Mega Millions game offers the Megaplier option. The Megaplier allows players to increase their non-jackpot prize amounts by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times for an additional $1 per play.

When you purchase a Mega Millions ticket with the Megaplier option and win a non-jackpot prize, your prize will be multiplied by the Megaplier number drawn for that drawing. The Megaplier number is drawn separately from the main numbers and can range from 2 to 5.

For example, if you match five numbers (without the Mega Ball) and the Megaplier number drawn is 3, your prize would be multiplied by 3, increasing your winnings.

Keep in mind that the Megaplier applies only to non-jackpot prizes and does not affect the jackpot prize amount. Additionally, the Megaplier option must be selected at the time of ticket purchase and cannot be added after the ticket has been printed.

For the most current information on the availability of the Megaplier option in New Jersey Mega Millions and the associated prize multipliers, it’s recommended to check with the official New Jersey Lottery website or authorized retailers.

Bonus/extra draws

As of my last update, the New Jersey Mega Millions game typically doesn’t offer bonus or extra draws beyond the standard twice-weekly drawings. Mega Millions drawings usually occur on Tuesdays and Fridays.

However, it’s always a good idea to check the official New Jersey Lottery website or authorized retailers for the most current information regarding any bonus draws or additional features that may have been introduced since my last update.
